The Movie:
A Nightmare on Elm Street is the remake of the horror classic Freddy Krueger in the havoc in the dreams of teenagers of Elm Street drives.
Where the term "remake" a rather inappropriate term, so were here, as in most other remakes of old horror films, taken the basic idea of the original and revived in a new story with new backgrounds and a new event.
has been added to the events such as the present day, or from the child murderer Freddy Krueger made a pedophilic gardener.
Although there are some scenes that were copied from the original, but these are too few and not particularly flashy or spectacular.
For the role of Freddy Krueger cast Jackie Earle Haley, who for example, as Rorschach is known from Watchmen, while in all the previous parts, the role was played by Robert Englund.
The appearance of Freddy was heavily revised for the remake, so it looks more like a real fire victims.
My opinion:
As a great friend of the original series, I've done it difficult to see the movie at all.
But to stay up to date there was nothing else.
The film starts quite early with the first murder and Freddy schnätzelt is still suffering from a teenager to another, but just this Geschnetzel under an extreme lack of imagination and brevity.
While it was the first murder from the original, which is the second, taken over, but he does not nearly as good and brutal from what he is doing today in the original.
Another drawback is the unnecessary CGI effects, but Freddy's face is visible through the wallpaper effect, here, through the use of CGI totally ridiculous and cheap.
I have with this film worked very hard to him to look up to the end, rarely came 90 minutes before me so long, the movie has no spark, no power and no chance against the original.
Well you have to calculate it but the introduction of the "micro-sleep" the one when the brain suffers from lack of sleep due to short interruptions, and so has a dream and reality mix, these scenes in Film look very chic part of itself and are about the only positive I could see the film.
for a young audience, which strips the original no longer exists or does not know this film will probably still be quite interesting as it seamlessly into slasher remakes such as "My Bloody Valentine 3D", "Friday the 13th" and " Stepfather, may be classified, "these films are the new generation of viewers then it successful, for old hands like me, this film is but a failed attempt to tie the success of old movies.
The DVD:
I was the rental version of the Film before, which is not cut from 16 therefore.
you German and English sound in 5.1 and includes only the German also surprisingly English subtitles (this is by now become a rarity).
The picture is in anamorphic 2.40:1.
as extras are only a 13 minute video about the making of the film included.
consider when the back of the DVD you should not surprise you, because the information text is unreadable by a printing error, instead of the German language was a foreign language took the letter was printed in German.
